IFP/LA Announces Details of August Screenwriters Lab

IFP/LA has named the participants in its 2004 Screenwriters Lab, which recently kicked off and runs into August.

The lab aims to help independent screenwriters improve their skills and develop unique voices as writers and will feature The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys screenwriter Jeff Stockwell as lab instructor.

Confirmed guest speakers include Patty Jenkins (Monster), Larry Karaszeswki (Man On The Moon, The People Vs. Larry Flynt), Audrey Wells (Under The Tuscan Sun), and Brian Dannelly (Saved!).

In addition to seminars, the lab offers one-on-one meetings between participants and advisors – writers, producers, and development executives – who in the past have included Hubert Selby Jr (Requiem For A Dream), David Benioff (Troy) and Alexander Payne (About Schmidt).

The 2004 Screenwriters Lab participants and their projects are: Scott Coffey & Blair Mastbaum (Jupiter); Andrew Friedman (Miss You Beast); Laura Hubber (Talk About A Revolution); Kendra Kurosawa (The Hunter); Jeremy Lerman (Central); Katherine Ruppe (A Killing Frost); Beth Schacter (Normal Adolescent Behaviour); L Malaine Waldron (South Of Heaven); Garret Williams (Lost Dog); and Christopher Young (The Pacific).
